A little bit of notice for a song « Thread Started on Dec 5, 2008, 2:42pm »
I found a St Nicholas site a few years ago that was happy to accomodate a christmas carol I co-wrote called Saint Nick.
I'm no longer in a songwriting phase but decided to check out my soundclick site for any developments. There is a link to it on the Saint nicholas website.
Anyways, lo and behold there was a message from a church in Ontario, Canada asking to buy a transcript so that the children there could perform it for this year's christmas pageant.
Very gratifying to find a taker for this song and to have it valued. I definitely believe in getting stuff out there. I have a couple of songs on the centre of political songs website too as I've mentioned before. I decided to do a search with one of the song names and found it on an Italian website for anti-war songs with a critique of the song....in Italian...

This is great, Janet! Congratulations I remember that Christmas carol. You posted a link to it in the old Bahamas Writer forums and I just listened to it again. It's really good.

Allow me to add my congratulations and best wishes for future songs! I wrote a few songs myself some years ago, but I'm no musician and could never get someone to work with me on that part. But what a great feeling, to think of children performing your work in a Christmas pageant! I'm not sure that a Grammy would be as sweet (though undoubtedly more financially rewarding).
A round of applause, and a well-earned "Brava!" to you.
